Cause
The Vancouver Improv Festival is one of North America’s longest-running improv festivals. The festival aims to celebrate spontaneity and collaboration through the theatre art form of improvisation. Since 1999, Vancouver Improv Fest has showcased over 1350 local, national and international performers for thousands of theatre and comedy fans. We program improv shows, public improv workshops, as well as community events, during our week-long event.
Our festival has been running for 26 years, and we have seen the positive impact on our community. From local improvisers showcasing their work in a professional theatre to international artists visiting Canada for the first time, to new improv collaborations breaking new ground in the art form, to community members seeing their first improv show or trying a workshop - we know our festival brings joy to the Vancouver community and beyond.
